Islam Makhachev is the talk of the town. The UFC star secured his tenth straight win in the promotion this past weekend when he stopped Bobby Green in the main event of UFC Vegas 49.

The Russian star has now called for a title fight against the winner of Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje and it would be interesting to see whether he gets his wish or not.

While Islam is on his way to capture the UFC Lightweight title, he was recently quizzed about the possibility of fighting former UFC Champion and his teammate Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Dagestani superstar was asked whether he would fight Khabib if Khabib was the champion and if Islam was the number one contender.

Islam had a cheeky response to the question and said that he could go to Khabib’s home and take the belt rather than fighting.

“If I need belt. I go Khabib’s home and take it,” he said.

Islam currently holds a professional MMA record of 22-1 to his name and has won all of his last ten fights. The Russian’s only loss came against Adriano Martins back in 2015 and he has been unstoppable ever since.

As for Khabib, he retired from MMA while being the UFC Lightweight champion and had an undefeated professional MMA record of 29-0 to his name at the time of retirement. His last fight came against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 after which Khabib announced that he is retiring.
