Mujtaba Kamal is someone that needs no introduction in the Indian Boxing scene. He has been around the block for a long time as an athlete, coach, promoter and much more.
While he holds his own position in the fitness and boxing community at the moment, what most people overlook is how his protégés are making their mark in the boxing world.
A former International boxer, Kamal had an excellent amateur career and a short professional career after which he had to step away from the ring due to a serious jaw injury. However, he made the best of the opportunity and turned his focus to bigger things.

Popularizing the concept of fitness boxing was just one among them. While this process of educating and introducing boxing to the masses happened on one side, on the other side, Kamal started coaching and promoting young boxers, almost all of them are currently top-ranked in BoxRec at the moment.
He currently manages 11 boxers on record, of which five (Ramandeep Kaur, Luxmi Kardam, Akashdeep Singh, Asad Asif Khan, and Lalrinsanga Tlauare) are ranked first in their respective divisions in India.
Also, 18-year-old Faizan Anwar, a former protégé of Kamal, is currently the top-ranked Welterweight boxer in BoxRec and that too, he is on top of the division which also has veteran Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat who is ranked second.
Faizan, is currently associated with Round 10 Boxing which is led by Jose Mohan, who also happens to be a close friend of Kamal and has a similar vision of building the next generation of boxers.
The most interesting part of all this is that a good portion of Kamal’s boxers have already claimed wins over foreign opponents proving that they can soon make a mark on the international stage.
When asked about his vision for the future of boxing in India, Kamal noted that his actions so far speak for themselves and considering how all his boxers are reigning on top, his actions do speak a lot.
