Brave CF 29: Jose Torres pulls out of the title fight due to personal reasons

Press Release
14 November 2019

Jose "Shorty" Torres made a difficult decision after losing his father a little more than a month ago. He decided to fight on and face Marcel Adur for the inaugural BRAVE CF Flyweight title, in a bout that was supposed to take place this Friday, November 15th, at BRAVE CF 29, the organization's biggest event of the year. However, the strain of the tragedy was too much to handle and Torres surprised the hundreds of people assembled at the Oasis Mall by pulling out of the fight with Adur.

"Shorty" announced the shocking news himself as he held back tears, explaining that his father had been his inspiration and that he was having panic attacks ever since the passing of his idol and his body wasn't cooperating with him.

"I apologize to the people that supported me and support me, people that came to the Kingdom of Bahrain to watch me fight. To BRAVE CF, I wanted to be your first Flyweight world champion, and to Marcel. I wanted him to have the best version of myself in front of him, but I can't fight", explained Torres, visibly upset and tearing up.

Afterward, Adur gave his condolences once again to "Shorty", but did say he would rather have heard the news earlier, as he had already made weight. Marcel continued by saying he would like to fight as soon as possible for the belt.

The BRAVE CF 29 continues with a stellar main event, as the final of the KHK World Championship will take front position, with the one-night, four-men, open weight tournament becoming the biggest fight in the biggest event in Asia. Hamza Kooheji vs Nahuel Gandolfi moves on to the new co-main event, as "The Pride of Bahrain" looks to cement his position as one of the top contenders in the Bantamweight division.
