Indian MMA team trains at UFC Gym Abu Dhabi ahead of IMMAF World Championship

The Indian MMA team is spending some time at the UFC Gym Abu Dhabi ahead of their outing in the IMMAF World Championship which is scheduled to happen from 24 January 2022 to 29 January 2022.

Lenin Prakash, Vijay, Syed Abdul Nazzeur, Ganesh Raj, Shabarish, and Vridhi are the athletes that will be working at the facility ahead of the World Championship. The arrangement for the same was made by MMA India Vice President and UFC Gym India’s Ajay Marwah.

Earlier, as we reported, the Indian team was training in two batches with one batch in Thailand under the guidance of coach Ajit Sigamani while the other batch was training in Hyderabad under Coaches Shaik Khalid and Vikram Nagaraj. India will have a representation of 15 athletes this time around for the IMMAF World Championship including former Junior IMMAF World Championship and WMMAA World Championship medalist Syed Abdul Nazzeur.

The team is also having a lot of support this time around through sponsorship from Venky’s, Aeropostale, and Hyperice. Aeropostale will be providing the team with backpacks. Greenhill, meanwhile, will be providing kits for the team when Hyperice will be helping athletes with their recovery.

The IMMAF World Championship 2021 will be the biggest IMMAF event ever with a record participation of 521 athletes from 60 member nations.
