Gurdarshan Mangat got back to winning ways in the ONE Championship after defeating Roshan Mainam at ONE: Dangal via a Decision.
The first round saw both fighters having their moments with most part of it being spent on the ground with Roshan in top position. Roshan also managed to drop Mangat at one point of the round while Mangat had some success with his elbows and knees.
Mangat started the second round strongly with some leg kicks and went on to pressure Roshan throughout the round. Roshan started strongly in the third round with a takedown only to see Mangat getting back up. Mangat then went on to finish the fight strongly with his stand-up game and ended up securing a decision victory.
Ahead of the fight, Gurdarshan had suffered a defeat to Reece McLaren back in December 2019 which was interestingly his first submission defeat as well. He was riding high on a five-fight winning streak prior to this defeat having defeated the likes of Abrou Fernandes, Tony Tauru, Dipesh Rasal, Imran Sayed, and Kuldeep Singh Sekhon. The wins against Abrou Fernandes and Tony Tauru came in the ONE Championship as well.
Roshan, on the other hand, came into the fight on the back of a three-fight winning streak having defeated Khon Sichan, Pengshuai Liu, and Aziz Calim. All three wins of Roshan came via submission as well and the fight with Khon Sichan was his ONE Championship debut as well.
ONE: Dangal was broadcasted across the globe on May 15, 2021, and featured names like Ritu Phogat, Bi Nguyen, Arjan Singh Bhullar, and Brandon Vera apart from the showdown between Roshan and Gurdarshan Mangat.
