Gina Carano has responded to the recent callout from former UFC champion Ronda Rousey. Carano, who is one of the pioneers of Women’s MMA, recently talked about the possibility of returning to fight Ronda Rousey and noted that it is something that she will not rule out completely.
“I can’t say that I wouldn’t (fight again.) And honestly, I feel like she’s the one as well if I wanted to…you never lose that want to do it,” she said during her recent interview.
She further went on to add that her busy schedule might be a hurdle for the potential fight.
“I really want to create, direct; I want to produce; I want to give artists, I want to give Ronda Rousey a job in one of my movies. So, maybe there’s something we could do there,” Carano noted.
The 40-year-old Carano is currently busy with her Hollywood career and was a successful MMA fighter before to that. Carano started her MMA career back in 2006 and fought till 2009. She competed in EliteXC, Strike Force and WEF before retiring and holds a record of 7-1 to her name.
Prior to her last fight in 2009 against Cris Cyborg, Carano was on an undefeated seven-fight winning streak.
Ronda Rousey, on the other hand, holds a professional MMA record of 12-2 to her name. Similar to Carano, Rousey had an unstoppable run in her professional MMA career which saw her pile up a 12-fight winning streak across UFC, Strikeforce, HKFC, and KOTC.
After suffering two back-to-back losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, Ronda stepped away from MMA and moved to a career in Professional wrestling with the WWE. Ronda has been in the WWE ever since and has enjoyed good amount of success in the professional wrestling promotion.
