WATCH: Chourajit Laishram Singh gets grand welcome in Manipur after winning Gold

Indian MMA Fighter Chourajit Laishram Singh got a hero's welcome back in Manipur after winning Gold Medal in the 145 lb category at the GAMMA India MMA National Championship held in Bangalore from 23 March 2021 to 26 March 2021.

Chourajit got a win over Mairidin Newmai of Nagaland in the finals of the GAMMA India MMA Championship to clinch gold. He trains out of RMX MMA Fitness in Manipur which is the brainchild of Indian MMA and ONE Championship star Roshan Mainam.

Chourajit won four fights in the event to win gold. He defeated Abhishek Narayan in the first round, Mohit Tiwari in the second round and Vishal Diman in the semis. He then defeated Mairidin Newmai of Nagaland in the finals to win the gold medal. With the gold medal, he secured a place in the GAMMA Asian Championship which is scheduled to take place in July in Kyrgyzstan.
