One former champ for another. A change has been made in one of BRAVE CF 57’s title fights, as Amin Ayoub has been forced off his interim Lightweight world title fight on March 11th. The Frenchman was supposed to be facing Abdisalam Kubanychbek, but will now have to wait to make his return. Cleiton ‘’Predator’’ Silva, a former world champion himself, has been drafted in to fight for the interim world belt.
Silva was already scheduled to make his return to competition at BRAVE CF 57, when he was initially set for a Lightweight bout against Kamil Magomedov. Now, the former champion gets another assignment on short notice, stepping in to fight for the interim title - and the chance to face Ahmed Amir, the lineal champion, a man he beat back at BRAVE CF 11, in April of 2018.
Cleiton made waves between 2018 and 2019, when he won three straight fights under the BRAVE CF banner to become the fifth Lightweight champion in promotional history. However, he relinquished the throne to Amin Ayoub at BRAVE CF 44, and will now be fast-tracked towards the top in case he gets past Kubanychbek.
The Kyrgyz superstar, meanwhile, has had a perfect BRAVE CF career so far, with four stoppage victories in as many outings. Abdisalam has been campaigning for a title shot since his last victory, when he forced Rolando Dy to quit between rounds after a near-perfect performance in the main event of BRAVE CF 47.
BRAVE CF 57 moves on still with three title fights and headlined by Hamza Kooheji taking on Brad Katon for the vacant Bantamweight world championship. The co-main event is a grudge match between two of the biggest names in Arab MMA as Middleweight champion Mohammad Fakhreddine gets another crack at Mohamed Said Maalem and the vacant Light Heavyweight title after a No Contest in their first meeting.
