For the second time in less than 3 months, the Lightweight bout between Lucas “Mineiro” Martins and Marcel Grabinski suffers a last-minute cancelation -- although, this time, not so much like before when Grabsinki fell ill during the interval between the co-main event and the main event of the evening.
According to BRAVE CF officials, Grabinski was forced to withdraw from the rescheduled bout a little bit less than a week prior to the event due to Covid-19 protocols. Marcel hasn’t traveled to Kazakhstan and will be replaced by local standout Olzhas Eskaraev.
Martins, who saw his fight against Grabinski canceled again, expressed his frustration but thanked Eskaraev for taking the fight on short notice. The bout will be contested at a Catchweight of 74kg.
‘’It’s tough, I was in disbelief when I heard about it. I’ve been training specifically for Grabinski for four months, now I will have to bring a new strategy in four days for a new fighter. But I would like to thank Olzhas for taking the fight. I had a long journey and I need to fight’’.
BRAVE CF 53 moves on without Grabinski, but with Martins secured. The event will take place on August 21st, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and will be held in association with Octagon Fight. In the main event of the evening, Tae Kyun Kim takes on Nurzhan Akishev in the Featherweight division.
