As the BRAVE CF 33 main card started, back in December 2019 in Saudi Arabia, the spotlights were on Canada’s Todd Stoute, a long-time veteran of the North American circuit who was finally making the move to the big leagues.
Stoute would face Algeria’s Mohamed Said Maalem, whose arrival from the local scene to the global platform was much more discreet. But favoritism does not play a role after the bell rings and Maalem put on a truly MMA clinic for 15 minutes, beating Stoute via unanimous decision and punishing his rival throughout the bout.
Almost a year has passed since the biggest win of his career took place, and now Mohamed Said Maalem is ready to prove that it wasn’t by chance. In fact, that statement becomes much more plausible when you look at ‘’L’Ambiance’’ and his recent record, the decision win actually ended a four-fight streak of KO or TKO wins.
On November 15th, Mohamed Said Maalem will take on Zvonomir Kralj, the “Croatian Sensation”, who was probably one of the stand out fighters during BRAVE CF’s European Series in the summer. But Maleem is no stranger to the underdog position, actually, he feels pretty confident in seeing his opponent being regarded as a regional sensation.
At the end of the day, the scenario will be quite similar for Mohamed Said Maalem at BRAVE CF 45 but the stakes are much higher this time: a convincing win not only will prove that his last performance wasn’t a fluke but also certify him as championship material for the Light Heavyweight division.
