Aung La N Sang will be locking horns with Reinier de Ridder on October 30 in Singapore at ONE: Inside the Matrix for the ONE Championship Middleweight title.
Ahead of their much-anticipated showdown at the event, both fighters appeared in an interview on the South China Morning Post (SCMP MMA) last day where Aung La N Sang revealed that the fight is unlikely to go the distance.
“We’re finishers. I have 12 submissions, 12 knockouts. I don’t fight to win by points, I fight to finish people. It’s gonna be within five rounds. I’m leaning towards a kick. But we’ll see.” He said during the interview with Nick Atkin of SCMP MMA.
He also added that it will be an interesting showdown considering the skill set that each fighter has.
“We both know what we’re gonna do, I think he’s gonna try to submit me and I’m gonna try to knock him out, but things might change in the fight. We’ll see how it goes. We all know what our strategies are. It’s gonna be interesting because Reinier is in Holland working with great kick-boxers, and my trainer is Henri Hooft – his style is very kick-boxing oriented, and so it’s gonna be a good MMA fight,” he added.
Elsewhere, the fight card will feature Christian Lee vs Iuri Lapicus for the ONE Lightweight title when Martin Nguyen vs Thanh Le for the ONE Featherweight title will also be on the card. Xiong Jing Nan vs Tiffany Teo for the ONE Strawweight title will be the fourth title fight on the card.
