Angela Lee says that she is ready for grappling match with Danielle Kelly

ONE Atomweight champion Angela Lee is open to a grappling match with Danielle Kelly. Last day, the BJJ phenom had expressed her interest in a grappling showdown with Lee in an interview with SCMP MMA.

“It’d be cool to have a match with her. She’s been fighting and grappling for a while and she’s a black belt as well,” Kelly said about a potential match with Lee.

Now, Lee has responded positively to the callout and added that she would love to grapple Kelly.

"I think it's cool. They're definitely going to be capturing a whole other audience with the jiu-jitsu fans and the No-Gi grapplers. So I think that's really smart, it's a way to capture another audience,” Lee said in her interview with SCMP MMA.

Kelly made her ONE Championship debut at ONE X when she went up against Mei Yamaguchi in a submission grappling match. Kelly won the performance bonus for her outing in the match despite fighting to a draw against her Japanese counterpart.

Lee, on the other hand, had a great showing in the main event of ONE X. She went up against ONE Atomweight Grand Prix winner Stamp Fairtex at the event and secured a submission victory to cement her dominance on top of the ONE Atomweight division.

After the fight, she had expressed her interest in fighting Seo Hee Ham as well who is coming off a win against Denice Zamboanga at ONE X.
