6th Bengaluru Open MMA Championship: Weigh ins and Seminar completed on Day 1

The 6th Bengaluru Open MMA Championship kickstarted in Bengaluru last day with the Judge and Referee seminar conducted by MMA India President Sharif Bapu and the weigh-ins ahead of the event.

The Judge and Referee seminar and the weigh-ins were conducted at the AKFC Whitefield Martial Arts Gym in Whitefield and saw solid participation. Theory and practical classes along with exams were conducted for the referees and judges who will be given an opportunity to test their knowledge at the upcoming Bengaluru Open MMA Championship.

MMA India President Sharif Bapu presided over the seminar sessions which saw a string of participants.

Fighters weigh-in before the matchups

AFKC also played host to the athlete weigh-ins ahead of the upcoming Bengaluru Open MMA championship which is hosted by the Association of MMA Karnataka (AMMAK). More than 200 Indian MMA athletes are expected to compete at the event from across more than 20 states. For the first time in the Bengaluru Open, there will also be Youth MMA categories showcasing some of the best young talents from the country.

Athletes who have successfully cleared the weigh-ins will be in action from Day 2 of the event which will kickstart at Forum Neighbourhood Mall, Whitefield from 11:00 AM IST. The event will be inaugurated by Arvind Limbavali, an honorable Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and a former Cabinet Minister.

The opening ceremony will also see the presence of Rajesh L, BJP General Secretary of the constituency along with MMA India president Sharif Bapu, AMMAK president, and MMA India General Secretary Prasad Gaitonde, Vice President of AMMAK N Kumar, AMMAK General Secretary Kru Vikram along with other members of MMA India and AMMAK.
