India set to host IMMAF Asian MMA Championships in 2024

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has set the stage for an exceptional year in 2024, unveiling a calendar of Championships that promises unparalleled action and global participation. The most interesting part about the calendar announcement is India hosting the 2024 Asian MMA Championships.

Kicking off the year's festivities is the highly anticipated 2024 IMMAF European Championships, commencing on March 29th in Belgrade, Serbia. The event, spanning Senior, Junior, and Youth categories, will showcase the pinnacle of talent, with Youth competitions scheduled for March 30th and 31st, and Senior and Junior bouts culminating on April 6th.

Adding a new chapter to IMMAF's global reach, Namibia will host its inaugural IMMAF event with the 2024 IMMAF Africa Championships in Windhoek. From May 27th to June 2nd, Youth, Junior, and Senior competitors will take centre stage, elevating the MMA landscape in the region.

Asian Championships in India

The summer of 2024 will be marked by the Asia Championships, set to take place from June 30th to July 6th in Delhi, India. This event, featuring Youth, Junior, and Senior age brackets, is expected to showcase the best of Asian MMA talent, bringing heightened attention to the sport in the country.

The MMA India Federation which is affiliated to IMMAF has been actively hosting events across the country over the past few years. The officials from India have been a crucial part of international IMMAF events when Indian athletes have seen their fair share of success in the IMMAF Competitions as well with names like Mahboob Khan and Vridhi Kumari among others standing out.

Pan American Championship and Youth World Championship

In July, IMMAF will venture to Trinidad & Tobago for the 2024 Pan American Championships, where emerging stars of Pan American MMA will compete from July 14th to 21st across Youth, Junior, and Senior categories.

August will witness the return of IMMAF to Abu Dhabi, UAE, for the highly anticipated 2024 IMMAF Youth Championships, scheduled from August 5th to 11th. Following the success of the 2023 Youth World Championships, the event promises to be another historic showcase of emerging talent.

The grand finale of the season, the 2024 IMMAF World Championships, will bring together the best fighters from around the globe in October or November, with specific dates and locations yet to be officially confirmed.

Throughout the year, national federations will offer expanded opportunities for athletes worldwide to compete and develop. An event of note is the Mauritius Open MMA Championship, scheduled for May 1st to May 5th in Cote-D’or, Mauritius.
