2022 GAMMA Asian Pacific MMA Championship: Here is Team India for the event

The 2022 GAMMA Asian Pacific MMA Championship is set to start in Thailand on 11 November 2022 and the Indian MMA team is ready for the action as well.

After the European Championships in Georgia in September, athletes from 17 nations will start to arrive today for the second GAMMA continental competition of the year.

The day prior to tomorrow's formal tournament draw, weigh-ins, medical examinations, hydration tests, rule briefings for athletes and coaches, and referee and judge training sessions are all scheduled. At the Asian Indoor Stadium, the fights begin on Friday.

After the inaugural GAMMA Asian Championships were held in Kyrgyzstan last year, these Championships have been expanded to include participants from the Pacific region for 2022.

The GAMMA Asian and Pacific Members have welcomed this expansion, which represents a significant step forward for the continued growth of mixed martial arts in both areas.

Three days of competition are scheduled for the GAMMA Asian-Pacific Championships in the Pattaya Asian Indoor Stadium from November 9 to 13. In MMA and Striking MMA, qualifying rounds are held on Days 1 (Friday, November 11) and 2 (Saturday, November 12), prior to the day of finals on Sunday, November 13, in the ten weight categories for men and seven for women.

Team India for the 2022 GAMMA Asian Pacific MMA Championship

India will have a strong team this time around for the 2022 GAMMA Asian Pacific MMA Championships. Athletes from GAMMA India and All India Mixed Martial Arts Federation (AIMMAF) will be putting on the Team India flag and will compete for the medals in Thailand.

The team will be filled with fresh faces this time around with former Medal winners also finding places in the team. Multiple Time GAMMA medalist Sumit Bhyan will be returning for another medal while former GAMMA World Championship Silver Medalist Indiyana B will also be competing.

GAMMA Bronze Medalist Havish Reddy is also on the team along with Niranjan Singh who had impressed in his last GAMMA Tournament outing.

Names like Pratik Shetty, Prabhu, Tor Perme, Weshi Laki, Diyo Rimo, among others will also be in action at the event. You can see the Team for the event below.
