Former UFC champion Michael Bisping played a role in the XXX Movie back in 2017 when he appeared as Hawk in XXX: Return of Xander Cage.

The move, which featured Vin Diesel in the lead role as Xander Cage, also had stars like Donnie Yen, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, Kris Wu, Ruby Rose and Tony Jaa among others. While Bisping played the role in the film, the role was initially planned for Conor McGregor.

The Irish MMA Superstar was supposed to make his Hollywood entry into the film with the XXX movie but he decided to focus on his MMA career instead. Conor McGregor was sitting on his loss against Nate Diaz at the time when the offer for the movie came to him and he decided that it would be best for him to focus on his rematch with Nate Diaz.

The role, eventually, went to Michael Bisping who grabbed the opportunity with both hands. The decision of Bisping, however, did not sit well with McGregor and Bisping mentioned the friction in one of his interviews.

“He had that role in XXX, and he didn't take it because he wanted to focus on the fight. So I went an auditioned for XXX and he did a press conference and said a couple of comments that I didn't like. He said, 'Bisping owes me 20 per cent for that, and I didn't even get a thank you.' I was like, 'hold on, don't be rating my accomplishments - you're f***ing Conor McGregor you've got the world at your feet. I'm trying to do my best here,” Bisping noted in one of the interviews.

Vin Diesel had also opened up about the issue where he noted that Conor McGregor rejected the role in the movie to focus on his fighting career. The Hollywood actor also noted that he needed a fighter with an accent and said that he went with Michael Bisping for the role.

The movie was made with a budget of $85 Million Dollars and was distributed by Paramount Pictures. It released on January 5, 2017 and grossed a total of $346.1 Million in the Box office. It got mixed reviews among the critics and had an approval rating of 44% in Rotten Tomatoes. The critics claimed that the movie can only satisfy the fans of the franchise and that it had a shaky storyline.
