In a groundbreaking collaboration, WMC India and Supremacy India orchestrated a mesmerizing two-day event, the Supremacy Fight Night, on December 1st and 2nd. This historic spectacle, featuring the WMC Ranking Series 13 Eastern India Title Belt Fight, brought together elite Muay Thai teams from across India for an unforgettable showcase of skill, determination, and sportsmanship.
The professional fights kicked off on the evening of December 2nd at 6 pm, setting the stage for a series of exhilarating matches. The event witnessed seven WMC pro bouts, and the co-main event of the Supremacy Fight Night was dedicated to the WMC WB State Belt. Arko Banerjee and Rahul Mandal, both esteemed fighters in the West Bengal Muay Thai scene, battled fiercely for the title. In a thrilling turn of events, Rahul Mandal emerged victorious and was crowned the West Bengal State WMC Title Belt holder.
The main event of the evening was a clash for the coveted WMC East India Title Belt in the lightweight division. Shoeb Ali and Animesh Dhige, two of the top-ranking WMC fighters, engaged in an awe-inspiring five-round battle that had the crowd on the edge of their seats. Shoeb Ali showcased his prowess by dropping Animesh Dhige twice to the canvas, securing a historic victory. The local hero was not only crowned as the first-ever WMC East India titleholder but also received the prestigious Fighter of the Night trophy.
Adding to the triumphs of the evening, Kavya Kirodian, the IFMA Asian Champion 2019 and Youth Rising Star Award winner, claimed the title of the Best Female Fighter of the Night. This marks another milestone for Kavya as the first-ever WMC state title winner from Maharashtra.
The event marked a historic moment for West Bengal, hosting its first high-level professional Muay Thai tournament. The exceptional quality of the fights and the overall event was underscored by the presence of Chief Guest Coach Håkan Ozan, a former world champion from Sweden, who added his expertise and prestige to the occasion.
