EA Sports UFC 5 set to release on 27 October 2023

Excitement is building among mixed martial arts (MMA) fans worldwide as Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) unveil their highly anticipated collaboration. On October 27, 2023, they will unleash EA SPORTS UFC 5 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, marking a revolutionary leap in MMA gaming.

Developed on the powerful Frostbite  Engine for the very first time, UFC 5 promises an unparalleled MMA experience with unmatched authenticity, bringing the Octagon to life with astonishing realism.

"UFC 5 is the most realistic MMA experience fans can have outside of the Octagon,” declared UFC President Dana White. “This game is incredible and truly a next-generation UFC experience.”

This installment, powered by the Frostbite Engine, delivers a lightning-fast 60 frames-per-second rendering and gameplay simulation, representing a new era of realism and fighter intensity. On the cover of the Deluxe Edition, fans will find UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, while the Standard Edition features UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and former UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko.

One of the game's standout features is the Real Impact System, designed to provide hyper-realistic damage progression during fights.

Fighter attributes will deteriorate realistically as the bout progresses, and players will witness the power of each impact with more than 64,000 possible facial damage combinations. UFC 5 introduces fluid physics and particle systems to enhance the in-game atmosphere, capturing the essence of a Pay-Per-View main event.

In addition to the Real Impact System and enriched gameplay with the Frostbite Engine, UFC 5 offers a slew of new features, including Cinematic K.O. Replays, Doctor’s Checks and Stoppages, New Strikes and Hit Reactions, Seamless Submissions, and Fight Week and Alter Egos.

Cinematic K.O. Replays will showcase fight-ending finishes with intensified visuals and enhanced excitement, while Doctor’s Checks and Stoppages add a layer of realism by prompting the referee to pause the fight for a ringside doctor's inspection following a notable injury.

New Strikes and Hit Reactions, coupled with revamped Seamless Submissions, ensure a smoother, more authentic ground game. Fight Week and Alter Egos introduce a revamped live service, connecting the game to real-world UFC events.
