UFC 301 Results: Alexandre Pantoja retains, Jose Aldo returns in style

UFC 301 is in the books and the event saw flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja retaining his title with a decision win over Steve Erceg in the main event.

Pantoja and Erceg had an exciting fight which lasted five rounds. Both fighters had their moments across the fight but it was the experience of Pantoja that proved to the difference. The Brazilian was able to outclass Erceg in most of the scrambles and this reflected in the scorecard as well.

In the end, the judges scored the contest 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46 in favor of Pantoja.

In the co-main event, Jose Aldo, famously dubbed "The King of Rio," showcased his mastery at Farmasi Arena, delivering a shutout performance against the formidable Jonathan Martinez to the roaring approval of the home crowd.

Right from the start, the former featherweight champion demonstrated unwavering focus and sharpness, employing superior boxing technique to outclass Martinez throughout the fight. Aldo's strategic brilliance reached its pinnacle in the third round, where he intensified his assault, repeatedly rocking Martinez with calculated strikes.
