Earlier this week, the unfortunate news surfaced that Dricus Du Plessis had sustained an injury, forcing him to miss his scheduled title bout with UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 293. Adesanya responded to the situation with a fiery video, also suggesting a replacement option: Sean Strickland.

Media quickly turned their attention to the outspoken middleweight contender, and Helen Yee was the first to gather comments from him. True to his straightforward nature, Strickland didn't hold back.

When discussing title fights, the question of money always arises, and for Strickland, it's the decisive factor. When asked if his demands were on par with Lebron James-level payouts, he responded candidly.

Negotiations for the Israel Adesanya fight are already in progress, and Strickland emphasized that it ultimately boils down to money. He straightforwardly states, "Pay that man his money."

Strickland believes that fans are more eager to see him step into the Octagon with Adesanya than watch the original matchup. Confident in his abilities, he admits that he may not know if he'll win, but he's determined to give it his all and go toe-to-toe with the champion, making his intentions clear with an unfiltered statement, "I'm gonna go in there and I'm gonna punch that Chinese mother—er right in the face."

“I mean, it’s UFC money. It’s never LeBron James money, guys. We’re in the UFC, so we’re talking about like, you know, I might be able to put a new lift kit on my truck money or I might be able to upgrade my Hyundai Accent,” Strickland added.
