Ronda Rousey makes shocking accusations against WWE, vows to never return

Ronda Rousey, once hailed as one of the UFC's biggest stars alongside Conor McGregor, faced a tumultuous journey that saw her meteoric rise overshadowed by profound challenges.

In 2015, Rousey's aura of invincibility was shattered when she suffered a devastating head kick from Holly Holm, leading to the loss of her bantamweight title at UFC 193. Subsequently, she faced another crushing defeat at the hands of Amanda Nunes in just under a minute at UFC 207.

Her forthcoming memoir, "Our Fight," sheds light on why she remained silent about the Holm loss. It reveals a hidden struggle with concussions, which she had concealed for years to continue competing, dating back to her judo days.

“My concussion history that I had to keep secret for years so I would be able to continue to compete and perform," Rousey disclosed during an Instagram Live session. "That’s basically why I had to retire."

Despite demanding a fight with McGregor, Rousey's health concerns, stemming from multiple concussions even before her UFC career, prevented her from addressing the consequences of her losses.

Following her UFC departure, Rousey transitioned to professional wrestling, where she achieved remarkable success in WWE. However, her relationship with the company soured, leading to her exit in 2023.

"[The book reveals] how much of an absolute s*** show it is at the WWE," Rousey candidly remarked. "Because they can’t hold a sword over my head and hold me hostage with my own career."

She pointed fingers at WWE executives Bruce Prichard and John Laurinaitis, whom she holds responsible for her departure. Despite contractual limitations on her commentary, Rousey spared no punches in her book, reserving harsh criticism for the two figures.
