The highly anticipated UFC debut of Michael Page is set to captivate fight fans worldwide as he faces off against Kevin Holland in the featured main card fight at UFC 299 this Saturday. Known for his spectacular performances in Bellator, Page has long been eyeing a move to the UFC, and according to him, the feeling was mutual.

Ahead of his transition from Bellator to the UFC, Page's contract allowed him to explore non-MMA opportunities, including his bare-knuckle bout with Mike Perry at BKFC 27. It was during this time that Page revealed the UFC's initial interest in him.

"Interestingly enough, their first reach out was kind of a mistake on their part, because it kind of showed their interest," Page shared during the UFC 299 media day. Despite the initial mix-up, discussions between Page and the UFC remained open, leading to his eventual debut in the promotion.

Sporting an impressive record of 21-2 in his professional MMA career, Page has earned a reputation as one of Bellator's standout fighters, known for his electrifying knockouts and showmanship. As he prepares to face Holland, another dynamic striker, Page believes the matchup is tailor-made to introduce him to UFC fans.

"I keep telling everybody I feel like we’re going to have the first live, in-cage podcast with me and him talking," Page remarked, highlighting the entertainment value of the upcoming bout.

However, Page's ambitions extend beyond just entertaining fans; he's set his sights on championship gold. With aspirations of a swift rise to the top, Page views a win over Holland as a crucial step towards his ultimate goal.

"I don’t do things just to make up numbers," Page asserted. "We’re here for the belt. I’m here to get the bling."

With the current welterweight champion, Leon Edwards, awaiting a challenger, Page sees an opportunity to make a statement and potentially fast-track his path to a title shot. A victory over Holland could catapult him to the forefront of the division, setting the stage for a blockbuster showdown between two English fighters.

"Stadium type big," Page predicted of a potential matchup with Edwards, underscoring the significance of such an event for British MMA.

As the countdown to UFC 299 continues, anticipation mounts for Page's long-awaited UFC debut, promising an electrifying showdown that could reshape the landscape of the welterweight division.
