After Mikey Musumeci defeated rival Cleber Sousa and became the inaugural ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion, “Darth Rigatoni” made it clear who he wants next.
Following the historic win, Musumeci challenged legendary ONE Flyweight World Champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson to a submission grappling bout.
“I know what me and ‘Mighty Mouse’ can do for submission grappling,” Mikey said.
“How many people could we get to watch the match? I know that it would be the most viewed match in jiu-jitsu history.
“When I say it would be the biggest match, I know that we would make history together. And I am such a fan of him. I'm really a fan of ‘Mighty Mouse.’ It would just be an honor. I would see it as a rolling session with him and me together, a friendly roll. And it would be an awesome match between me and him.”

The Evolve MMA product didn’t have to wait long for Johnson to respond. Watching from home, the mixed martial arts GOAT took to Twitter to accept Musumeci’s offer.
Johnson said:
“If we don’t grapple in the Circle, I’ll come to Vegas and grapple you in the gym!”
The exchange between the two dominant ONE flyweights makes for a rare, respectful scene in today’s fight world.
Johnson is no stranger to call-outs and enjoys stepping up to new challenges, as previously seen in the ONE Championship’s first-ever mixed rules match, where he competed against ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon, submitting the striker in the second round.

Johnson has recorded some of the most stunning submission victories ever seen in MMA over the course of his career, while Musumeci is beginning to add some legendary names to his resume.
After all, he did submit jiu-jitsu pioneer Masakazu Imanari in under four minutes in his ONE Championship debut earlier this year.
A fight between Musumeci and Johnson would certainly elevate the interest in ONE’s newly created submission grappling division.
