Maycee Barber, is an American MMA Fighter who has been making waves in the UFC's Flyweight division.

Training from a young age

Born on May 18, 1998, in Greeley, Colorado, Barber has shown immense skill and determination in her MMA career. As of June 27, 2023, she holds the #8 ranking in the UFC women's flyweight division.

From an early age, Barber set her sights on becoming a professional fighter. Her father, Bucky Barber, recognized her potential and dedicated himself to honing her skills. They travelled across the United States, seeking the best training opportunities to develop her into an outstanding athlete, aiming to minimize the damage she might face in fights.

In addition to her own journey, Barber's younger brother, Wyatt, has also embraced mixed martial arts and signed with Bellator, further cementing their family's connection to the sport.

Professional debut and LFA

Barber made her professional debut at LFA 14 on June 23, 2017, facing Itzel Esquivel. She dominated the fight and secured a first-round armbar submission, marking the beginning of her successful career.

Continuing her winning streak, Barber faced Mallory Martin at LFA 22 on September 8, 2017, and emerged victorious with a unanimous decision.

In her next bout against Kaila Thompson at LFA 33 on February 18, 2018, Barber showcased her skills once again, finishing the fight with a first-round submission.

Barber's final fight with LFA took place at LFA 39 on May 4, 2018, against Audrey Perkins. She delivered an impressive second-round technical knockout, marking her first knockout victory in the professional circuit.

Her outstanding performances caught the attention of Dana White's Contender Series, where she faced Jamie Colleen on July 17, 2018. Barber secured a stoppage in the third round, earning her a coveted UFC contract.

Debut in the UFC

Making her UFC debut on November 10, 2018, at UFC Fight Night: The Korean Zombie vs. Rodríguez, Barber faced Hannah Cifers. She showcased her skills and secured a TKO victory in the second round, making a strong impression in her first UFC appearance.

Barber's winning streak continued as she faced JJ Aldrich at UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Pettis on March 23, 2019. Displaying her striking prowess, she won the fight via technical knockout in the second round.

In her next bout against Gillian Robertson at UFC on ESPN 6 on October 18, 2019, Barber once again displayed her striking ability and secured a technical knockout victory in the first round.

However, Barber faced a setback on January 18, 2020, when she fought Roxanne Modafferi at UFC 246. Despite her best efforts, she lost the fight by unanimous decision in an unexpected upset.

Following a year-long hiatus due to a knee injury, Barber returned to the octagon on February 13, 2021, at UFC 258, where she faced Alexa Grasso. Despite her determination, she lost the fight via unanimous decision.

Barber faced Miranda Maverick on July 24, 2021, at UFC on ESPN: Sandhagen vs. Dillashaw. Although the decision was controversial, she emerged victorious with a split decision win.

Scheduled to face Montana De La Rosa on December 11, 2021, at UFC 269, Barber withdrew from the fight due to undisclosed reasons. However, she eventually faced De La Rosa on April 23, 2022, at UFC Fight Night 205, winning the fight via unanimous decision.

UFC run continues

Barber replaced Casey O'Neill and faced Jessica Eye on July 2, 2022, at UFC 276. Displaying her skills, she won the bout via unanimous decision, marking the end of her initial contract with the UFC. Barber later re-signed with the promotion, demonstrating her commitment to her MMA career.

In her most recent fight against Andrea Lee on March 25, 2023, at UFC on ESPN 43, Barber secured a split decision victory, showcasing her resilience and determination.

Barber's most significant triumph came on June 24, 2023, at UFC on ABC 5, when she faced Amanda Ribas. In an impressive display of ground and pound, she won the bout in the second round, earning her first Performance of the Night award.

Maycee Barber continues to rise through the ranks of the UFC's flyweight division, and her remarkable performances and relentless pursuit of excellence mark her as one of the sport's rising stars.
