Can lightning strike twice? It certainly seems so! Just as BRAVE Combat Federation introduced the sensational Khamzat "Borz" Chimaev to the MMA world a few years ago, they have unveiled Khamzat "Borz" Maaev to global fans.

In a nostalgic moment during BRAVE CF 71 on Monday, Khamzat Maaev made his debut, facing off against Lebanon's own Elias Farah. It was in the same country of Bahrain where Khamzat Chimaev kickstarted his international career almost five years ago.

During that time, Chimaev swiftly defeated Marko Kisic in less than a round, beginning an incredible journey under BRAVE CF that transformed him into a superstar. Now, Maaev is poised to follow in the footsteps of his idol, and the comparisons have caused a viral sensation following his first BRAVE CF victory.

Any doubts about Khamzat's abilities were quickly dispelled. Maaev came out strong, applying relentless pressure on Elias Farah. The Lebanese fighter attempted a single-leg takedown, but Maaev swiftly shut it down.

The punishment inflicted was severe. Khamzat unleashed a barrage of powerful hammer fists and elbows to Farah's head. The referee had no choice but to stop the fight at just 41 seconds, marking Maaev's fourth first-round victory.

When asked about the similarities between himself and his almost namesake, Maaev responded with a clear objective: "I aim to be the same, or even better than Khamzat Chimaev!"
