Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu star Helena Crevar will introduce herself to ONE Championship's global audience.
She faces fellow American Teshya Noelani Alo in a 10-minute bantamweight submission grappling showcase at ONE Fight Night 39 on January 24 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
At just 18 years old, Crevar has already compiled a resume most grapplers would envy.
She became the youngest ADCC World Championship podium placer in history at 17, claiming a silver medal against elite competition. Her 2025 campaign delivered even more success: gold at the IBJJF No-Gi World Championship.
The 28-year-old Alo brings a formidable resume, claiming three ADCC Open Championships in 2025 while leveraging her background as a multi-time junior national judo champion and veteran wrestler.
These Americans previously met approximately three years ago during their colored belt days, with Crevar winning via penalty in a brief match.
"We competed once. I won the match by a penalty against her, but it was also a much shorter match, I believe, five or six minutes. So, I'm sure both of us have improved a lot since then. A lot has changed," Crevar explained.
The teenage prodigy revealed her recent technical evolution heading into this promotional debut.
"The past couple of years, I have been focusing a lot on improving my leg locks. So, I'd say some of those have been my favorites. But always since I started jiu-jitsu, I always liked chokes, specifically the rear-naked choke," she stated.
Despite acknowledging Alo's credentials, Crevar enters with unwavering confidence in her ability to finish the contest.
"I expect a tough match, both of us going in and trying to attack each other. I definitely believe in my skills the most, so I'm sure that I could finish the match with a submission," Crevar declared.
