Olympic Champion Gable Steveson Set for MMA Debut at LFA 217 in Minnesota

Olympic wrestling gold medalist Gable Steveson will officially step into mixed martial arts competition when he makes his professional debut at LFA 217 in Minnesota against Braden Peterson.

The 25-year-old Steveson captured Olympic glory at the Tokyo Games in 2021, before retiring from wrestling in March 2022 after securing the NCAA heavyweight championship.

Following his wrestling career, Steveson signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and made his debut in 2023. In May 2024, he briefly transitioned to American football with the Buffalo Bills, though he was released after three months.

Now shifting his focus to MMA, Steveson will compete for the first time inside the cage at Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, marking one of the most anticipated debuts in recent memory.
