This was accompanied by a screenshot of an article claiming that Russian tax authorities have seized Nurmagomedov's bank accounts over a debt of 297 million rubles. The information was reported by Russian media outlets Mash and REN TV.

McGregor’s post quickly gained attention, with fans and followers weighing in on the ongoing feud between the two fighters. The animosity between McGregor and Nurmagomedov dates back to their heated rivalry leading up to their UFC 229 fight in October 2018. The fight ended with Nurmagomedov submitting McGregor in the fourth round, followed by a post-fight brawl that intensified their feud.
