BRAVE CF 83: Marcin Bandel aims to become first fighter to submit Alex Lohore

On May 25, BRAVE Combat Federation will hold its first-ever event in the Netherlands, BRAVE CF 83, headlined by a marquee Super Welterweight bout between Marcin Bandel and Alex Lohoré.

Marcin Bandel, the former Super Welterweight champion, is set to return to the cage after his title loss to Kamal Magomedov at BRAVE CF 77. Bandel aims to prove himself once more. His opponent, Alex Lohoré, is a prominent European MMA fighter and a four-time champion in various organizations outside BRAVE Combat Federation.

Lohoré has never been submitted in his ten-year career, presenting a significant challenge for Bandel, who is known for his submission skills, having achieved 19 of his 22 wins via submission.

This clash raises an intriguing question: Can Marcin Bandel be the first to submit Alex Lohoré? Bandel is eager to accept this challenge.

“My main objective is to win, regardless of the method—be it decision, knockout, or submission. However, the chance to be the first to submit him is particularly appealing. It’s a challenge I’m ready for,” Bandel remarked before the fight.

This is not the first time Bandel has faced such a scenario. In his debut match for BRAVE CF at BRAVE CF 54, he managed to submit Magomed Ayskhanov, who had never been submitted before. Reflecting on that bout, Bandel said, “In my first BRAVE CF fight, I wasn’t planning to submit Ayskhanov, but when I knocked him down, I saw an opportunity. It’s interesting how the fight evolves and dictates your moves. Seeing him almost out, it was a good challenge to take down a strong wrestler and finish him.”

The fight between Bandel and Lohoré also carries significant implications for the Super Welterweight division's future. Current champion Kamal Magomedov, who has yet to defend his title, will likely be watching closely.

BRAVE CF 83, set for May 25, is part of BRAVE Combat Federation’s 2024 Europe Tour. This event will also establish BRAVE CF as the most-hosted MMA organization in Europe, with the Netherlands becoming the 14th European nation to host a BRAVE CF event.
