ATURTO will crown its inaugural featherweight champion on Dec. 21 as Kon Jarbin and Nilesh Chaudhary headline ATURTO: The First Champion, the promotion’s year-ending event in the capital city.
The matchup concludes an eight-month journey that began in April with the ATURTO Featherweight Grand Prix, featuring eight of India’s top prospects. Now only two remain.
Arunachal Pradesh standout Jarbin advanced to the final with a first-round TKO win over Maharashtra’s Karan Chauhan followed by a submission victory against Manipur’s Lakhan Laishram. A proven finisher, he enters the championship bout as the tournament’s most dangerous striker.
Rajasthan’s Chaudhary brings a contrasting style. A submission specialist, he secured his spot in the final with a dominant victory over Mizoram’s George Lalmanuama. Chaudhary has been training at Crosstrain Fight Club in Delhi under coach Siddharth Singh - the same gym where Jarbin began his MMA career.
The storyline adds intrigue to an already compelling striker-vs-grappler clash as ATURTO prepares to host one of the biggest events in its history.
Organizers say “ATURTO: The First Champion” will serve as a milestone for the promotion, marking the coronation of its first-ever titleholder and setting the stage for future expansions.
The event takes place Dec. 21 in Arunachal Pradesh.
