PFL Africa Adds Four Bouts to August 9 Card in Johannesburg

The Professional Fighters League has announced four additional bouts for its second PFL Africa event, set for Saturday, August 9, at Big Top Arena, Carnival City in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The newly confirmed matchups feature elite African MMA talent in the Welterweight and Featherweight divisions as the league continues its inaugural tournament to crown the first-ever PFL Africa Champions.

In the main event, Nigeria’s Patrick Ocheme (6-1) faces Guinea’s Mohamed Camara (5-2-1) in a Featherweight First Round bout. The co-main event features Angola’s Shido Boris Esperanca (9-1), fresh off a PFL debut win, taking on Gambia’s Ibrahima Mané (14-5) in Welterweight action.

Also on the main card, Democratic Republic of Congo’s British Boloyang (3-1) will meet undefeated Octave Ayinda (5-0) of Cameroon at 170 pounds. In another Welterweight clash, Sanon Sadeck (7-2) of Burkina Faso takes on Yabna N’tchala (11-2-1) of Guinea-Bissau.The updated early card includes two Featherweight First Round matchups. Nigeria’s Wasi Adeshina (7-3) will face DRC’s Jean Jacques Lubaya (9-1), and South Africa’s undefeated Elbert Steyn (3-0) takes on Morocco’s Abderahman Errachidy (4-1).

In total, 32 fighters representing 15 African nations will compete across four weight classes in the 2025 PFL Africa season. The tournament began on July 19 in Cape Town, South Africa, and continues its journey to crown the league’s inaugural continental champions.

PFL Africa: Johannesburg will be broadcast on SuperSport (Africa - English), Canal+ (Africa - French), PFL App (U.S.), and DAZN (France, UK & Ireland).
