Nong-O Ready to Defend Title Against Felipe Lobo: I Won’t Let Anyone Get My Belt

Nong-O Gaiyanghadao will put his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Championship on the line versus Felipe “Demolition Man” Lobo as part of ONE X on Saturday, 26 March, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The two will go head-to-head on a card that is so stacked with incredible talent that it had to be divided into three sections: ONE X: Part I, ONE X: Part II, ONE X: Grand Finale. Nong-O and Lobo will headline Part II as they battle for the belt. This will be Nong-O’s fifth title defense, and the world champion feels confident he’ll retain his strap.

“Apart from my dangerous weapons – punches, feet, knee, and elbow, this is Muay Thai rule. This is the game where I was born to be. So, this is my game,” Nong-O said.

The seven-time Muay Thai champion has more than 300 fights to his name, and he hasn’t lost a fight in seven years. These accomplishments alone present a challenge for Lobo, who has only a fifth of the experience the Thai warrior will be bringing to the Circle.

“I think in my bantamweight division, there are no contenders I [am afraid] of. Just give me a chance to fight. I've been the world champion for about 3-4 years now. Defending this title is important to me. I’ve been training hard, and I won’t let anyone get my belt,” the Rajadamnern Stadium Champion stated. 

Nong-O has been precise in his last two victories, with KO wins over both Rodlek PK.Saenchai and Saemapetch Fairtex. The two-time Lumpinee Stadium Fighter of the Year is bolstered by this success as he prepares to step into yet another battle and is sure he will earn his 263rd win.

“I think he won’t dare to face me in the first round. He will run around. For me, I will study him first. I will plan to deal with him for each round,” he said.
