Ronda Rousey does not get enough credit, says WWE Legend Trish Stratus

Former WWE Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey may have sparked mixed reactions from the WWE universe, but she finds support in WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. In a recent interview with TalkSport, Stratus defended Rousey's contributions to WWE and applauded her transition from UFC to professional wrestling.

"She did such a great job and probably doesn’t get enough credit for what she did," Stratus remarked, acknowledging Rousey's impact on the wrestling world. "To be able to come over to an entirely new industry… it’s not the same. Did she feel like it didn’t translate when she did her wrestling? Absolutely it did."

Reflecting on their initial encounter, Stratus expressed admiration for Rousey's courage in venturing into WWE. "I remember when we first met and I was like, ‘this is so cool, it’s Ronda Rousey!'," Stratus recalled. "I was just in awe of her, it takes a lot of guts to come over [from UFC to WWE] and put all your eggs in this basket, and she did that."

Despite any skepticism, Stratus believes Rousey successfully integrated her unique style into WWE, delivering standout performances against top talent. "She had stellar matches with stellar athletes and had her own style. She brought over the fan base and brought so much to our product, it was great," Stratus remarked.

Stratus also praised Rousey's decision to prioritize her personal life, including starting a family. "This is an amazing career, but there’s also life, right? You have to think about that, too," Stratus acknowledged, highlighting the balance between career aspirations and personal fulfillment.
