Charles Oliveira’s coach Diego Lima believes that the spotlight will be on Khabib Nurmagomedov if Oliveira beats Islam Makhachev at UFC 280.

Speaking in a recent interview which can be seen below, Lima noted that the spotlight will be on Khabib after the fight in Abu Dhabi. He went on to add that it is the fault of the former UFC Lightweight champion as he had talked too much.

Earlier, Oliveira and his team had made it clear that they want to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov next if the Brazilian beats Islam Makhachev. Lima touched upon the topic and noted that there will be pressure on Khabib from all sides to come out of retirement.

"I honestly think that Charles doesn't think about that today. When a fight is booked he focuses 100% on it... I think that after we get past Makhachev, I think there will be a lot of pressure not just from our side but maybe the Russians after [Oliveira beats] Makhachev, especially in Abu Dhabi... beating Makhachev will automatically turn the spotlight on Khabib... The media's, and the fanbase's attention will be on him... It's his fault. I think the trash talk that he did... It won't be because of Charles or Makhachev but because of Khabib's mouth. Over the fact that he spoke so much,” he said in the interview.

Khabib retired from MMA after his win over Justin Gaethje and has been busy as a promoter and coach. He is expected to be in the corner of Islam Makhachev for UFC 280 and the former champion is quite confident about his teammate winning the title.
