The event, which featured 25 different entries and more than 600 categories was a historic moment for BJJ in the region and happened on July 1 and 2, 2023.
Susovan Ghosh Shines with Double Medal
Susovan Ghosh, representing Team Relentless India, emerged as one of the standout performers of the competition. Ghosh displayed his mastery of the sport by clinching two medals. In the Adult and Masters (Male No-Gi) Purple Belt division, weighing in at 55.5 KG, Ghosh secured the gold medal. His exceptional grappling skills and technique earned him the top spot on the podium in this fiercely contested category.
Additionally, Ghosh showcased his versatility by claiming the silver medal in the Adult (Male GI) Purple Belt division, competing at 57.5 KG.
Adah Pitkar Adds to India's Medal Tally
Adah Pitkar, representing Gracie Barra Singapore, made India proud by securing a bronze medal in the Born in 2008-2009 Yellow Belt category, competing at 44.2 KG. Pitkar's tenacity and dedication were on full display as she battled her way to the podium, contributing to India's impressive medal tally.
Carpe Diem Singapore Tops the Team Standings
In the team rankings, Carpe Diem Singapore emerged as the top-performing squad in the adult categories, accumulating 125 points. Gracie Barra Singapore secured the second position, further solidifying their presence in the BJJ scene. Evolve MMA rounded out the top three teams, showcasing their talent and dedication on the mats.
